Gov. Run Healthcare

Posted by David Law in Untagged

Government Run Healthcare - Did you know...

The Democrats' efforts to institute socialized medicine in America will cost at least $1 trillion ($7,199 per taxpayer) and require a tax hike for every American and worsen already staggering federal deficits.
Check out these video clips that put $1 trillion dollars into perspective:

Private health insurance will end up costing more if they have to compete against a government-run plan
.  Because of a taxpayer subsidized competitive advantage the government would be able to set low prices, lower than many private insurers are able to match.  It will NOT create a create competition and lower cost,  it will simply force doctors and hospitals to recoup the losses by shifting costs onto those with private insurance - amounting to an estimated $89 billion a year.

The government plan will prevent many Americans from keeping their health insurance and doctors
.  A taxpayer subsidized government-run plan will undercut private insurance rates, force private insurers out of business and cause many Americans to join the public plan, even if they like their plan and their current doctor.  The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates as many as 15 million people could lose the benefits they currently receive through their jobs under the Democratic proposal to overhaul health care.

A government-run plan will lead to government bureaucrats setting standards of care, instead of doctors who really know what's best.  A government-run plan will result in the government managing costs, making decisions about capital investments, technology, and even the supply of licensed medical professionals based on political priorities.  Do you really want government bureaucrats, not doctors, determining your medical care?

TAKE ACTION NOW!  If we all take a few moments and take the following steps, we can STOP this!  Pass this message along!

Lincoln Day Dinner 2009

Posted by Lauren Rakolta in Untagged

WOW!!!  What an amazing turnout we had for our 2009 Lincoln Day Dinner on Friday night (May 1).  With over 400 guests it was great to see everyone excited and fired up!  Governor Huntsman gave a great speech and kept the crowd engaged and interested.  Governor Huntsman has distinguished himself as a leader among the party and we were honored to host him.  Thank you to him and his staff for making the long trek from Utah in support of Michigan’s county parties.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support; it certainly would not have been such a success without you.  Your generosity to OCRP is what keeps us moving forward and able to deliver a message and agenda of fiscal conservatism.  We are so greatly appreciative of everything you do.

A special thank you to our wonderful Lincoln Day Committee - Dennis Pittman and crew did such an incredible job.  We couldn’t have done it without them!

Now, on the heels of our Lincoln Day Dinner we have more fantastic events coming up:
